Over-door, freestanding or corner — which suits my shower?

Standard glass-door shower with two adults: over-door (#2) or #3. Family bathroom: freestanding HiRISE (#1). Tight ensuite: corner mount (#4). Curtain-rod shower: rod shelf (#8).

Will the adhesive corner mounts hold over time?

On flat, glossy tile or glass, the adhesive picks (#4, #6, #9) hold reliably for 3-5 years before needing reapplication. They will not hold on textured stone tile, mosaic, or unsealed grout. If your shower walls are textured, choose freestanding or over-door.

Aluminium, zinc-plated or silicone — which lasts in a wet bathroom?

Aluminium (most of this list) is the longest-lived — it doesn't rust ever. Zinc-plated steel is a budget alternative; the coating can chip and rust at the chip site over 2-3 years. Silicone (Umbra Flex, #6) is fully waterproof but limited in capacity.
