OUR METHODOLOGY

How we picked

Two decades of laundry retail — across Perth showrooms and an Australia-wide online store — shaped this list. Here’s the lens we used.

20+ years of laundry retail

We’ve sold laundry storage from our Perth showrooms since the early 2000s. Every pick here has survived years of in-store and online customer feedback.

Built to last beyond a season

We bias towards rust-resistant aluminium, stainless steel and powder-coated frames over cheap alternatives that need replacing every twelve months.

Verified by Aussie buyers

Every product here has live Judge.me reviews from real Soko & Co customers — not generic imports or paid Amazon placements.

Designed for your space

We rank across tight apartments, busy family homes and stylish living rooms — because one airer never fits every laundry.

FAQ

Questions our customers ask

Pulled straight from the inboxes and showroom conversations of our Perth team.

Do I need a trolley or just a basket?

If you sort laundry (whites/colours, by person, by load type) — get a trolley. The 2-tier trolley pays for itself in time saved within months. If your laundry is one-cycle-at-a-time, a single basket is enough.

What capacity do I actually need?

Rule of thumb: 30–40L per person per wash cycle. A single-person home needs ~35L; a four-person family doing two loads a week needs 50L+, ideally split across two baskets so colour sorting happens automatically.

Are collapsible baskets as durable as rigid ones?

The Joseph Joseph picks (#3 and #7) are warranted for years of daily collapsing. Budget collapsibles like #8 fatigue at the hinges after ~3 years of daily use — fine for renters who'll move anyway.

What pairs with these baskets for the actual drying?

For floor drying: see our Top 10 Foldable Drying Racks. For wall-mount drying: our Top 10 Wall-Mounted Drying Racks. For tight laundries: our small-space drying picks.

Will the wheeled trolley fit through a standard doorway?

Both trolleys (#1 and #2) measure under 60cm wide — they fit through every standard internal door (820mm) and through European-laundry openings. Width detail is on each product page; if you have a non-standard layout, message us with measurements.

Can I see any of these in person?

Yes — every pick lives on the floor at our Myaree, Karrinyup and Carousel showrooms. The 2-tier trolley is on display year-round.
